GEODEMO is the official site that the Italian National Institute of Statistics uses to disseminate demographic data on the Internet. Using the GEODEMO web interface, users can switch from tables to maps and vice versa using the same page to choose parameters and to display results. At the moment data displayed are derived from a survey about Resident population by age, sex and marital status conducted regularly by Istat at the register offices of each municipality. Next steps for GEODEMO will be to include more data sets, indicators, and new algorithms for class definition (i.e. Standard Deviations).
