Perfect tool for starting with Mapserver

With all components in place the only thing the user needs to do is to start developing. I would suggest installing HostGIS using VMware. HostGIS and VMware is a near perfect match. Once you have developed a solution - zip the virtual machine and distribute it to your peers for testing.

HostGIS released a new version of their system (HostGIS Linux 4.1) July 2007. Still a very good way to start using MapServer!
