All, We've planned out a demo at the City of Saint Paul for our latest incarnation of MapServer Based Web Interface/Data distribution application. * The application is XML/DHTML based with an emphasis on allowing the dataset owners free rain over their repective datasets with regard to updating. * Each layer in the interface has it's own administrator and each admin can edit the data as frequently or infrequently as they like. * Each data layer also uses it's own layer config and Map file which each admin has control over. The look and feel of the layer can be edited by each admin with this configuration. * No one layer being mis-configured can bring down the whole of the service as a result of this type of architecture. * Since the datalayers are seperated and called seperately, they can be used for other Clients besides a Web Browser. The plan now is to start around 5:00 PM. and go for an hour or so. Someone on the List suggested heading out afterwards to socialize. We can pick a place now, or wait till then.
